MAVNI program is still open for health care professionals for FY2016

    If you are a health care licensed professional and living in the US, you can apply for MAVNI program for expedited US citizenship.

    MAVNI is a pilot recruiting program offered by the U.S. military in an effort to search for individuals with critical language and cultural skills in certain kind of languages. This program was designed in a way to allow legal non-citizens to join the US Army in exchange for expedited U.S. citizenship.

    There are 3 criteria that the applicant must meet in order to successfully enlist in the U.S. Army.

    1. Applicants must be in one of the following categories at the time of their enlistment:
      a. Non-Immigrant categories → E, F, H, I, J, K, L, M, O, P, Q, R, S, T, TC, TD, TN, U or V
      b. Approved Asylee, Refugee, & Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
      c. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

    2. Applicants must legally reside in the United States for a minimum of two years prior to joining the Army.
      a. Must be between ages of 17 and 34 and depart for the training prior to 35th birthday*
      b. DACA are excluded (To clarify, DACAs do not have to reside in the US for two years prior to joining)
      c. No absences that last longer than 90 days per travel

    3. Education
      a. Qualifying scores on the Armed Forces Qualification Test(AFQT) and English language proficiency test.
      b. Fully licensed in the United States


    Health care professionals must be fully licensed in the United States. One also needs qualifying scores on an English language proficiency test.

    For Active Duty

    Comprehensive Dentist, Oral Surgeon, Preventive Medicine, Anesthesiologist, Pediatrician, Psychiatrist, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgeon, Emergency Medicine, Nuclear Medical Science Officer, Entomologist, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Anesthetist

    For Army Reservce

    General Dentist, Comprehensive Dentist, Prosthodontist, Oral Surgeon, Preventive Medicine, Urologist, Anesthesiologist, Ophthalmologist, Otolaryngologist (ENT), Psychiatrist, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgeon, Thoracic Surgeon, Orthopedic Surgeon, Emergency Medicine, Entomologist, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Physician Assistant, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

    For Army Reserve only: health care professionals in their final year of residency may be eligible to apply to the MAVNI program.
