@hg17 Hi this may be a little late but that form you mentioned is for DACA only. The Deferred Action I applied is not DACA. Anyway I am in the process of submitting additional evidence for my DA case. It took USCIS a while to give me response of any sort, 5 months to be exact. However, I did send a complaint to the ombudsman in and after a month or so USCIS snail-mailed me RFE or "request for evidence" in early August 2017. I am now submitting them tom. Hopefully everything goes well. There are some MAVNIs who have been granted DA. Maryland has some successful MAVNI DA applications and some in the mid to east coast. But not everyone who applied for DA got approved. If anyone isn't part of this MAVNI FB group page yet, here is the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/328344235771/?ref=bookmarks

RE: Deferred Action Interview
@Sujit I haven't received my DA thus I haven't submitted EAD application. As of now I'm still waiting for my DA approval. I'll be visiting LA downtown office end of this months to check on my DA. I'll be updating here soon.

RE: is MAVNI program currently suspended or shutdown??
Hi!!!
I am currently an enlisted mavni who's going to be shipped within this year. Based from our recent meetings with our commander, I can confirm that MAVNI as of the moment has been suspended because applicants who are still pending for a background check are being processed or rather being prioritized first before army can take-in new applicants.
My guess is that MAVNI will reopen late this year or early next year once applicant backlog has been fulfilled. Currently, backlog applicants such as myself are being processed and I can assure you that the program is in motion. It may be slow but it is in motion.
Understand that most of us have waited almost 2 years for this entire process to be complete. This is the case for us current enlistees because we were in the wrong place at the wrong time when we entered military via MAVNI. MAVNI at that time was bound for an overhaul in terms of applicant screening, and we were smack in the middle of it. But now the sky is finally clearing out and in time MAVNI will accept applicants again. I suggest calling the nearest recruiting office. Internet may only help you so much but talking to an actual recruiter may yield a more satisfying and personal result.
Good luck and always remember, everything comes to those who wait.

RE: Physical requirements for enlistment
@68Wambulance Yeah this MAVNI bs is really testing my patience. On the other hand, if they wanted us out they would have kicked us out already. The thing is, MAVNI is going thru some consolidation and restructuring. I am okay with that really. I am willing to wait. But please do not terminate us. It is just not fair to terminate enlistees just because the program is going thru changes. IT JUST ISN'T RIGHT! Extend our contracts and do not terminate us. The military has no reason to terminate enlistees really except for the fact that the enlistment contract has a shelf life. Please if you're a military official reading this, have the f*g balls to do the right thing and help MAVNI enlistees.

RE: Deferred Action Interview
@bale already did fingerprinting back at Feb 28, 2017. No response yet. But I read from a guy on this site saying it takes 90 days to process DA and another 30 days for work permit.vso I'm looking at around end of June or early July to get my work permit

RE: AILA Quicktake #193: MAVNI Program
@Rigam Did you apply DA at least? This will be my last resort. If I don't get shipped to bct at least I can stay 2 more years and work with permit.

RE: FY2017 MAVNI Program Updates
@kala_don https://www.defense.gov/news/mavni-fact-sheet.pdf read that for all requirements to apply for MAVNI. Regarding 2017 MAVNI recruitment, there has been no word if the program reopens due to backlog of current applicants and graduates. Basically, recruitment is a no go right now because there are too many applicants and graduates being background-checked by OPM( they are responsible for doing background checks). Be always updated on this website and on the facebook page of mavni. 2017 recruitment = no. Going to the nearest local recruitment center might also satisfy your search for reliable answers.

Did you get your work permit yet??
Has anyone received a work permit yet? I know some people in California, LA who has gotten their fingerprinting schedule. Speaking of which, how long do you think until work permits are given?

RE: Taken Entrance Exams and Medical exams since 2016. Just wating for OPI when it was suspended. Do i have to begin afresh when it reopens???????????
@kyle37 It is true. MAVNI right now is restructuring their applicant processing procedures and policies. 2017 MAVNI is on hold because it needs to focus on the current applicants and/or soldiers that have already sworn in and signed contract. Once that issue has been addressed, along with a consolidated applicant processing system, I think they will reopen the program. I heard from people that is may open of May 2017 or August 2017
